WorkshopsWARRIORS FOR PEACE: DJ YOGA FLOW with Ana-Maria & DJ Kyle Marshall Kula Annex and New Leaf Yoga join forces to support youth through yoga. Every day people are living with violence in their communities, homes, bodies and minds. Yoga has taught many of us how to create more peace in our actions, thoughts, and words. We all have the capacity to create positive change, but not all of us have the opportunity to nourish ourselves in positive ways. Help New Leaf make yoga more accessible to youth in the places where it's been least available by attending a beautifully guided 90-minute yoga practice lead by Ana-Maria Alvarado and DJ Kyle Marshall. This practice will guide students to courageously flow into postures with attunded awareness, by using breath and the sweet sound of live beats to assist in the process. SATURDAY, MAY 25 | 7:30 - 9:00PM | $20+hst $5 FROM EVERY PASS WILL GO TO NEW LEAF YOGA 10% off for Kula Annual and Monthly Contract Members Kula Annex | 304 Brunswick Ave | 416 922 5852

| RESTORATIVE YOGA FOR DEEP SLEEP with Tianne Allan The benefits of a good sleep at night show up in our daily life. With a good nights rest we are calmer and better able to deal with stress; our natural immune system modulators increase, helping us to fight off sickness; our mind is more alert, improving concentration, memory and problem solving. In addition to these and many other health benefits, it just feels so good to wake up refreshed, energized and looking forward to the day. This workshop will touch on the neurobiology of sleep and wakefulness, particularly the central role of the nervous system. We will explore the ways in which yoga can change our nervous system balance and thus, improve our sleep patterns. We'll learn specific meditation techniques, breath work, and restorative yoga poses which relax the body, clear the mind and prepare the body for a deep, rejuvenating sleep. We will experience Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep or sleep with awareness. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method for complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It is said that one hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to three or four hours of restful sleep. When you don't have time for a full night's sleep, this gem of a practice will ensure your body get the rest it needs, leaving you feeling refreshed and energized.
